27 August 2012

The 48th Maputo International Fair (Facim 2012) opens today at the site in Ricatla in the Marracuene district, used for the second consecutive year, with 19 participating countries and more than 1,800 national and foreign exhibitors.

The 19 countries and territories taking part in Facim 2012 are Brazil, China, Egypt, Germany, Indonesia, Italy, Kenya, Macau, Malawi, Namibia, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, South Africa, Spain, Swaziland, Turkey, United Arab Emirates and Zambia.

The fair, whose theme topic is ‘expanding the horizon of your business, optimising synergies’, runs from 27 August to 2 September. Business delegations will visit from Portugal, Argentina and Kwazulu Natal in South Africa. The organisers (IPEX – Institute for Export Promotion) expect to attract more than 62,000 people.

“We have gone beyond our expectations in terms of participations, regarding both the number of companies, for we are now talking about 1,100 national companies and 700 foreign ones, and potential visitors,” IPEX president João Macaringue said several days ago.

Mozambican Exporter Day is marked today and aims to distinguish companies with the best export promotion performance in 2011. (macauhub)
