Mozambican exports increased by 19 percent in 2011 to the amount of US$2.7 billion, indicate data from the Export Promotion Institute (IPEX) cited by the newspaper O País.
According to IPEX, the export growth was due to the sale of Mozal aluminium, electricity, gas, tobacco, shrimp and agricultural products.
More than 70 percent of Mozambique’s exports were destined for the Netherlands, South Africa, Portugal, China and Zimbabwe.
