Seven wine companies, grouped into the Wines of Brazil project, are due in Hong Kong to end a week of tastings and meetings, which began in Beijing on 7 September, and took them to Shanghai and Guangzhou with the support of the Brazilian Wine Institute and export and investment promotion agency Apex-Brasil, the Brazilian press reported.
The first meeting was with a group of journalists, importers, distributors, sommeliers, restaurant owners and drinks stores, as well as consumers.
On Monday Wines of Brazil travelled on to Shanghai and on Wednesday the seven wine producers were in Guangzhou, as part of a tour that will end with a presentation by Master of Wine Debra Meiburg.
Brazilian wines took part for the first time this year in the Asian edition of what is considered to be the most important fair in the segment, Vinexpo Asia Pacific 2012, held in Hong Kong from 29 to 31 May.
The main activity promoted alongside the fair by Wines of Brazil took place on 30 May in Hong Kong, when eight companies took part in a Master Class, which included wine tasting, and the next day there was a tasting meeting with over 100 guests including journalists, opinion makers, and specialists.
