18 September 2012

A mission from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) arrived in Sao Tome and Principe to assess the local macroeconomic climate and the level of execution of the financial plan outlined until 2015, the Sao Tome press reported.

The programme signed by the Sao Tome government with the IMF includes funding of US$3 million and is designed to be executed over three years.

The country’s government has a meeting scheduled with the IMF mission during the next week and the assessment needs to be positive in relation to macroeconomic progress and prospects for 2013 to that the programme can continue. (macauhub)
