Chinese company Sinohydro Corp is putting down a new layer of asphalt on a three-kilometre road that accesses the Middle Institute for Administration and Management on the outskirts of the city of Luena, capital of Angola’s Moxico province, Angolan news agency Angop reported.
The work began a week ago by assessing the road’s disrepair, and the type of asphalt previously used as the road is only damaged on the right-hand lane, whilst the other lane is still in a good state of repair.
According to information from the Angolan National Roads Institute (INEA), the survey of the road’s needs will be followed by compacting the base layer and then laying a cement surface.
As well as this project, Sinohydro has laid new asphalt on roads in the city of Luena and is currently repairing the road between Luena and Lucusse, over a distance of 133 kilometres, of which over 100 kilometres have already been asphalted. (macauhub)
