The P&W Industry Group, an industrial company based in Shanghai, China, may build a factory in the Brazilian state of Alagoas, said the group’s managing director for Brazil, Itamar Feitosa, at a meeting with the state government, according to the Brazilian press.
The group’s factory, which will have innovative technology for building panels for the construction sector, is expected to be located on the northern coast, in Japaratinga, and will require investment of 20 million reals (US$9.8 million).
According to Feitosa, the factory will be operating by the end of January 2013 on a plot of land covering 60,000 square metres and will create 150 direct jobs that may increase to 250 in the first year.
The managing directors of P&W in Brazil said that the company was a pioneer in building pre-fabricated modules for house construction and noted that advantages, along with a lower cost, were improved thermal and sound insulation, and improved fire retardant properties.
The P&W Industry Group has its headquarters in Shanghai, China and has offices in Luanda (Angola), Lisbon (Portugal) and Brazil and manufactures panels for the construction sector using proprietary technology. (macauhub)
