Construction work at the Fútila Industrial hub, 36 kilometres from the Angolan city of Cabinda, is due to begin soon, the acting coordinator of the project’s technical execution office said in the city.
Cited by Angolan news agency Angop, Peres do Amaral said that within the next few days the public tender for construction of the industrial hub would be awarded to the successful bidding company.
The hub is expected to cost US$80 million, which will be entirely funded by the central government, and Peres do Amaral said that it was necessary to make some changes to the initial design, which had been drawn up based on studies carried out in 2000.
The Fútila Industrial Hub project covers an area of 2,400 hectares and involves construction of 56 industrial units. It is expected to create 14,000 direct and indirect jobs. (macauhub)
