EDP invited to take part in offshore wind project in China

6 November 2012

Portuguese power company EDP has been invited by China Three Gorges, a group shareholder, to take part along with Brazilian group Furnas in an offshore wind farm project, due to be installed in the Chinese province of Jiangsu.

In an initial phase a 200-megawatt (MW) wind farm is due to be built costing some 560 million euros.

The announcement was made by Olga Simbalista, Furnas’ director for planning, management and investment. Furnas is part of Brazilian group Eletrobras, which also competed in the final stage of EDP’s privatisation, which was awarded to China Three Gorges. (macauhub)
