China imports 71 percent of Brazil’s soy production

Brazilian soy exports to China, between January and September totalled US$11.61 million, as compared to US$9.6 million in the same period of 2011, according to figures from Brazilian trading company Companhia Nacional de Abastecimento (Conab).

According to Conab in the first nine months of this year Brazil exported 22.11 million tons of soy to China, which was an increase of 13.33 percent against the same period of 2011.

Around 71 percent of all the soy produced in Brazil was exported to China.

Brazil is one of China’s main suppliers of soy after the United States which, following the bad weather that affected the country’s central region, saw a considerable drop in its production. (macauhub)
