13 November 2012

More than 150 companies from seven countries will be present at the 16th Cape Verde International Fair (FIC), which runs from this Wednesday the 14th until Sunday the 18th at Achada Grande in Praia.

The international participants represent Portugal, Brazil, Spain, the Netherlands, Canada, the Czech Republic and China. The host country Cape Verde accounts for 55 percent of companies at the fair, while the international exhibitors are mostly from Portugal, Brazil and Spain’s Canary Islands.

Cited by the Cape Verdean press, Fair president Luís Cardoso said there was increasing demand “to participate in the FIC, which is Cape Verde’s biggest business event, so we’ve had to strengthen our logistics capacity.”

Cardoso added that the FIC is a multi-sector international business event and that all economic activity sectors were represented in this year’s fair, ranging from construction, industry and information and communication technologies to general commerce, import/export, consultancy, automobiles, machinery, banking, insurance and financial services.

The motto of the 16th Cape Verde International Fair (FIC 2012) is “Partnerships as a Factor for Success” (macauhub)
