The second edition of Expotrans – Angola Transport and Logistics Fair is due to be held from Thursday to Sunday of this week in Luanda. Companies from Angola and countries such as South Africa, Germany, Brazil, Spain, Portugal, China and Zimbabwe are due to take part in the fair, according to a statement issued in the Angolan capital.
The fair, which is jointly organised by the Ministry for Transport and the Luanda International Fair (FIL), is expected to bring together over 50 participants including institutes, public and private companies and Angolan and foreign consultancies.
According to the statement issued in Luanda the fair is intended to support the creation of a transport network that covers the whole of Angola and thus to improve Angola’s strategic position. It will also help to restructure public transport companies by providing them with professional management for greater efficiency and profitability.
The Angolan transport sector has seen a considerable increase in construction of new facilities, refurbishment and modernisation of existing ones, such as railway lines and stations, road and sea terminals and airports. (macauhub)
