27 November 2012

Germany plans to donate 85 million euros over the next two years to development programmes and in the form of budgetary aid to Mozambique, the German embassy said in Maputo.

In a statement, the German embassy said that the aid had been guaranteed during two-way negotiations with the Mozambican government in Maputo.

Aid of 80 million euros will be channelled into development programmes for the 2013-2014 period and an additional 5 million euros will be provided for the 2013 state budget.

During two-way negotiations, Berlin pledged to provide another 15 million euros to support the 2014 state budget, “if concrete progress is made in the agreed areas of good governance.” (macauhub)
