ZR Energy, owned by investors form Mozambique and Oman, plans to invest US$244 million in a grain, legume and vegetable production project in the Tambara district of Mozambique’s Manica province, the district’s administrator said.

Gilberto Canhenze told Mozambican daily newspaper Notícias that the company was a subsidiary of the Good Health Power group, which focuses on irrigated production of maize, wheat, rice, beans, and vegetables.

The administrator also said that ZR Energy would fund wildlife conservation in the area with a view to developing tourism in the Tambara district.

Canhenze also told the newspaper that, as well as the funding of US$244 million, the project could make use of further loans from international financial institutions when necessary. (macauhub)
