British group Lonrho Hotels invests 7.5 million euros in hotel in Beira, Mozambique

British consortium Lonrho Hotels has announced it plans to invest 7.5 million euros to refurbish Hotel Dom Carlos, in the city of Beira, in Sofala province, central Mozambique.

Hotel Dom Carlos, which is one of the most emblematic in the city, has been closed due to its poor state of repair and currently houses hundreds of poor families.

In a statement the Lonrho group, which is linked to the industry, agri-business and hotel services sectors, said that it plans to take the easyHotels brand to Mozambique.

After it is refurbished easyHotel Beira will have a total of 90 rooms.

Lonrho also plans to set up luxury hotels and easyHotels in African countries experiencing economic growth, as is the case with Mozambique. (macauhub)
