Angolan consulate in China issues 117 entry visas per day over last six months

Consular services at the Angola Embassy in China over the last six months have issued 21,255 entry visas or 117 per calendar day to Chinese citizens, most of which linked to companies operating in the Angolan market, said the consular services manager.

Cited by Angolan news agency Angop, Luzia Maria Dias dos Santos explained that the high number of Chinese requesting visas was due to the fact that Angola had signed a number of contracts with Chinese companies for the national reconstruction process.

“This is why the number of Chinese with interests in Angola has increased recently, at a weekly average of around 1,800 to 2,000 visas, which is proportional to the increase in the number of companies from China contracted to carry out construction in Angola,” she said.

“As well as the visas requested by the companies that have been contracted, there are those that want to analyse the market, taking into account the interest that Angola has given rise to in the private sector,” said Luzia Maria Dias dos Santos.

Angola’s Consular services take two working days to issue an ordinary tourist visa, whilst urgent residence and working visas are issued in 12 days and normal working visas take 30 working days to process. (macauhub)
