Angola has natural, cultural and historical resources that should be explored in order to re-launch tourism in the country and thus to generate revenues for the country’s development, an official from the Hotels and Tourism Ministry said Wednesday in the city of Lubango.

Speaking to Angolan news agency Angop, Ana Bela da Silva, director of the legal office of the Hotels and Tourism Ministry, also said that Angola was in a privileged position as it has tourist, historical and cultural sites that have yet to be explored.

For this to become a reality, Silva said that strategies needed to be adopted and that investments need to be channelled into the sector.

Ana Bela da Silva noted that, in the last few years, an increasing number of Angolan were travelling inside the country and that Angola’s cultural identity, its habits and customs, was more valued.

Silva also noted that the Hotel and Tourism sector had generated an increasing number of direct jobs as a resulting of growing investment. (macauhub)
