Macau airport management company CAM posts profits for first time in its history

Macau airport management company Companhia do Aeroporto de Macau (CAM) posted a profit of 14.4 million patacas (US$1.8 million) in 2012, for the first time since the company was founded in 1989, the company’s new CEO, Ma Iao Hang said Thursday.

“In 2012 we had an operating profit of 750 million patacas and, after injection of more capital by shareholders and paying of debts accumulated over the years, we achieved profit of 14.2 million patacas,” said Ma at the traditional Spring Dinner.

According to the chairman of CAM, operating Macau International Airport provided turnover of 3.4 billion patacas in 2012, when it handled 4.49 million passengers and 27,000 tons of cargo.

Ma Iao Hang was named chief executive of the company, replacing Deng Jun, at an extraordinary general meeting held on 5 December, 2012. (macauhub)
