Repairs on Angola’s road network are due to continue this year with a view to linking provincial capitals with the country’s capital, Luanda, as well as industrial production areas with consumption areas, according to a document from the Angolan National Roads Institute (INEA).
The document, cited by Angolan news agency Angop said that land mine and explosive device removal would be included in the 2013/2017 Programme to Refurbish Road Infrastructure.
The five-year programme includes activities that are an extension of the strategic plan to replace provisional metal bridges with permanent reinforced concrete, metal and mixed material bridges.
According to the statement INEA is also looking into construction methods that allow for gradual development of paving structure taking into projected volume of traffic. (macauhub)
