The Mozambican government is currently organising the first summit meeting on natural gas scheduled for March of this year. The meeting will be the first of its kind in the country and is intended to promote Mozambique’s potential in this area, the Natural Resources Ministry said in Maputo.
In a statement cited by Mozambican news agency AIM, the ministry said that the summit was intended to discuss natural gas discoveries in Mozambique in detail, as well as strategies, contract opportunities, project execution, financing and investment initiatives.
The meeting is being organised by the London-based CWC Group specialising in natural gas, oil, energy and infrastructure, as well as by Mozambican state oil and gas company, Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos (ENH).
Mozambique has been exploring its natural gas reserves for almost ten years, but has attracted greater international attention over the last few years, particularly to the north of the country where huge natural gas deposits have been found. (macauhub)
