EDP Escelsa, an EDP-Energias de Portugal power distribution company in Brazil, has started building the Jurama sub-station, said the company’s technical and environmental director, Fernando Saliba.
He also noted that the new sub-station was a response to increased consumption in the region, offering greater operating flexibility and better service quality. The unit is expected to start operating before the end of the year.
“It is fundamental for the new sub-station to start operating in order to respond to the region’s economic growth, providing electricity to consumers that meets technical and safety standards”, Saliba said.
The sub-station will increase the installed capacity of the electricity system in the north of the state of Espírito Santo by 20 MVA, benefitting over 100,000 people. (macauhub)
