International Fund for Agricultural Development supports projects in Sao Tome and Principe

The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is due in 2014 to donate US$6 million to Sao Tome and Principe for agriculture. Fishing and rural development projects Sao Tome’s Minister for Agriculture, Fishing and Rural Development said.

Minister António Dias also said that IFAD was due to send a mission to Sao Tome and Principe in March to work with the Agriculture Ministry, “so we can identify areas for the project.”

The funding will be for a period of four years – from 2014 to 2018 – and according to the minister is an “award” for the way in which the archipelago has managed its resources. (macauhub)
