Angolan state oil company, Sociedade Nacional de Combustíveis de Angola (Sonangol) in 2012 sold 5.85 million tons of miscellaneous refined products, which was an increase of 19 percent against 2011, the company’s chairman said.
According to Francisco Lemos Maria, the main refined products consumed and which saw greatest growth in 2012, were lighting oil, diesel and butane.
He said that due to liberalisation of the domestic fuel market, Sonangol had sold 1 million tons of fuel to other distributors, notably gasoline and diesel.
He said that liquid fuel storage capacity also increased last year to 729,000 tons. (macauhub)
