Production at Angolan bitumen company Sociedade Angolana de Betumes (Angobetumes) is enough too meet the needs of road construction and repair work in the country, the company director for hygiene and safety said in Ndalatando, Kwanza Norte province.
On the sidelines of the fifth national seminar on licensing of distribution and sale of oil derivatives, which was organised by the Oil Ministry, António Achando said that to meet demand the company had three bitumen distribution terminals in the provinces of Luanda (the capital), Malanje and in the city of Lobito, in Benguela province.
The Malanje terminal has a capacity of 1,000 tons of bitumen, the Lobito terminal has capacity for 10,000 tons and the Luanda terminal for 18,000 tons, and the three units have tanker truck filling systems capable of loading 37 cubic metres of bitumen per hour.
Achando said that Angobetumes may expand its business to other regions of the country, according to Angolan news agency Angop.
The director of hygiene and safety of Angobetumes also said that the company also distributes and sells imported bitumen, noting that bitumen was produced in Angola by Sonangol’s Luanda Refinery. (macauhub)
