Angola’s Economy Ministry plans to be very strict this year about the accounts presented by public companies, the Economy Minister, Abraão Gourgel said Wednesday in Luanda.

In relation to the seminar promoted by the Transport Ministry on accounting and management control of public companies in the transport sector, the minister noted that this year “we will apply the law more strictly, particularly in relation to the penalties outlined in legislation.”

Gourgel also said that he would continue to work with the boards of all public companies so that accounts are presented within the deadlines set by law and for their quality to improve.

According to Angolan news agency Angop, the seminar was used to discuss issues such as “Apparent and real non-conformities in the accounts of transport sector public companies,” “Control of management and governance of companies,” and “Plan of action for public companies in the transport sector in a financial organisation model.” (macauhub)
