28 March 2013

The base interest rate in Angola was kept unchanged at 10 percent, according to a decision by the Monetary Policy Commission of the Angola National Bank announced this week in Luanda.

The commission also decided to keep the permanent liquidity facility unchanged at 11.25 percent and the permanent absorption facility at 1.25 percent.

The commission also said that credit had continued to rise in February and that the average rate of exchange for the kwanza against the US dollar was 95.962 kwanzas, which maintained exchange rate stability on the primary market.

Finally, the rate of inflation in the last 12 months had risen slightly, from 8.90 percent to 9.04 percent. (macauhub)
