Angola and Mozambique are the first choices of Portuguese businesspeople when asked about where they plan to invest in 2013, according to an annual survey by Travelstore American Express.
Of the 229 companies surveyed, in sectors such as retail, construction and technology, 30 percent said that the Mozambican market was their preferred target, 22 percent said they intended to invest in Angola and 17 percent chose Brazil, which in 2012 was the second most popular destination, now taken up by Angola.
Portuguese newspaper Sol said that Mozambique had already been in first place in the Travelstore American Express 2012 survey, which analyses business trips made by Portuguese businesspeople.
For 2013 the study projects growth of 0.9 percent in the number of business trips organised in Portugal but notes that most companies are expected to adopt measures to reduce the average cost of travel, such as phone calls and videoconferencing. (macauhub)
