Brazil is available to support Angola in carrying out a geophysical and geochemical survey of the country, the Angolan Geology and Mining Minister, Francisco Queiróz said Thursday in Brasilia.
According to Angolan news agency Angop the minister also announced that the Brazilian government had also said it was available to re-launch the Joint Coordination Commission for cooperation between the Angolan Ministry for Geology and Mining and Brazil’s Mining and Energy Ministry.
Queiróz, who has been in Brazil since Monday heading up a delegation that intends to boost geological and mining cooperation, said he was satisfied with the results of the visit so far.
The Angolan delegation and Brazilian mining resources research company Companhia de Pesquisa de Recursos Minerais (CPRM) Wednesday signed a memo that will lead to signing a memorandum of cooperation for Brazilian technical assistance and training of Angolan staff.
Queiróz, who is due to end his official visit to Brazil Friday, met with Mining and Energy Minister, Edson Lobão, and invited him to visit Angola. (macauhub)
