Esso Exploration Angola award two construction contracts to Italian-Angolan consortium

Esso Exploration Angola (Block 15) said Thursday it had awarded the tender for engineering, provisioning, construction and installation to a consortium made up of Saipem, Petromar and Saipem (Portugal) Comércio Marítimo, in a statement issued by Sonangol.

According to the statement the work includes engineering, provisioning, manufacturing and installation of oil pipelines and water injection ducts, totalling 59 kilometres.

Work in the marine areas will be carried out between the second quarter of 2014 and the second quarter of 2015 and components will be entirely manufactured in Angola, at the Soyo and Ambriz yards.

Esso Exploration Angola (Block 15) operates Block 15, which is some 145 kilometres west of Soyo municipality.

Petromar is an Angolan company controlled by Hersent, a 100 percent owned subsidiary of Italian group Saipem, which is 43 percent owned by Italian oil group ENI, and by Angola oil company Sonangol, and Saipem (Portugal) – Comércio Marítimo is a subsidiary of the same Italian group, with its headquarters in Madeira, Portugal.
