Portuguese IT company Novabase opens subsidiary in Mozambique

Novabase, a Portuguese information technologies company, began operating on Thursday in Mozambique, in partnership with the Mozambican entrepreneur Lucas Cachine, “with proven experience in this market”, the company announced in a statement.

Novabase is initially focusing on infrastructures and communications. It aims to become the “technological partner of reference for the main banks and mobile operators, with significant participation in public projects” and to “expand the presence to the rest of the African market, exporting knowledge and technology from Mozambique”.

The local team of 10 employees led by Nelson Teodoro should “double by the end of the year, creating new opportunities for recent graduates in the areas of management and engineering”.

Novabase has offices in Germany, Spain, France, the Middle East, Mozambique, Angola and Portugal. Its international business now accounts for “nearly 30 percent of total turnover”. (macauhub)
