The executive commission of Russian group Alrosa has approved new partnership for exploration of diamond deposits in Angola and in Botswana, according to the specialist press.
In Angola’s case, the commission ordered an agreement to be prepared by next June with Angolan diamond company Empresa Nacional de Diamantes de Angola (Endiama) to set up a partnership for diamond prospecting in areas considered to have potential based on Alrosa’s geological surveys.
At the beginning of the month, the chief executive of Alrosa, Fyodor Andreev, travelled to Angola to discuss some projects with Endiama and at the end of his visit he said that based on geological surveys a large diamond deposit would be found.
For Botswana, Alrosa, which is one of the world’s largest diamond producers, has prepared a partnership project proposal for prospecting and obtaining exploration rights. (macauhub)
