Gross revenues from casino gaming in Macau were 113.589 billion patacas (US$14.198 billion) from January to April, up 14.4 percent year-on-year, the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau has announced.
The variation rate recorded in April in accumulated terms is slightly less than that observed at the end of the quarter, 14.8 percent, but is likewise two-digit, unlike the variations in January (+7.3 percent) and February (+9.4 percent), which were below 10 percent.
In April, gross revenues from casino gaming were 28.305 billion patacas (US$3.538 billion), 13.2 percent more than in the same month of 2012.
But revenues posted in April fell by 9.7 percent compared to the March figure of 31.336 billion patacas, the highest in this year’s four completed months.
At the end of the first quarter of 2013 there were 35 casinos in Macau, pertaining to six concessionaires: Sociedade de Jogos de Macau (20), Galaxy Casino (6), Venetian Macau (4), Melco Crown Jogos – Macau (3), Wynn Resorts – Macau (1) and MGM Grand Paradise (1). Together they counted 5,749 tables and 16,406 gaming machines. (macauhub)
