11 June 2013

Equatorial Guinea airline Punto Azul is due Tuesday to launch flights between Malabo and Sao Tome, a representative of the airline on the West African archipelago said Monday.

Américo Cabral, who represents the airline in Sao Tome, said that Punto Azul’s flights would be run by an Embraer 145 aircraft with capacity for 50 passengers, and the flight would be offered three times a week, on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Cabral also said that services for the new route would be provided by Island Tour – Travel Logistic, GSA, a travel and tourism agency operating in Sao Tome and Principe.

The new route between Malabo and Sao Tome will replace the flights previously offered by Air Nigeria, which linked the Sao Tome capital to Abuja (Nigeria) with a stop off in Malabo, as well as in Duala, Cameroon. (macauhub)
