Germany will provide Mozambique with funding of 89 million euros to support priority activities included in the 2013 State Budget, the Mozambican Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation said in a statement.
The financial support, which was made official Thursday on signing two agreements, covers education, decentralisation and sustainable economic development, as well as the Administrative Courts, the Tributary Authority, management of mining resources and conservation of biodiversity.
Minister Oldemiro Balói noted the important and constructive role Germany has played in inter-government negotiations, particularly in dialogue with Programmme Support Partners (G19) as well as political dialogue between Mozambique and the European Union.
Daily newspaper Notícias reported that during negotiations Germany said it would consider additional funding of 45 million euros, which will be paid out based on results of good governance and construction of schools. (macauhub)
