Cape Verde International Tourism Fair on Sal Island

15 July 2013

The Cape Verde International Tourism Fair (Expotur) will henceforth be held at a permanent venue on Sal Island, Prime Minister José Maria Neves said when opening the 2013 fair on Friday.

The decision to keep holding Expotur on that island aims to “create conditions so the event can gain quality and become increasingly international, enabling it to become an important forum for promoting Cape Verdean tourism,” Neves stated.

The vice-president of the island’s chamber of commerce, Manuel Lobo, said the site to build a permanent venue had already been chosen, and that “for the 2014 fair Expotur should no longer need to use tent pavilions.”

The fifth Cape Verde International Tourism Fair ran from Friday thru Sunday in Santa Maria on Sal Island. About fifty national and foreign exhibitors participated. (macauhub)
