TAAG Angola Airlines will offer flights to London or Paris starting in the second half of 2014, the airline’s director said, adding that the number of passengers rose by 15 percent in 2012 to more than 1.1 million.
“In June of July of next year we’ll start flying to London or Paris – the destination has not been decided yet,” Rui Carreira told Portugal’s Lusa news agency.
The opening of a new route to join Lisbon and Porto is linked to the May 2014 delivery of a new Boeing 777-300 and will test the expansion of the Angolan flag carrier’s operations, Carreira said.
TAAG Angola Airlines is allowed to fly to Europe “with limits”, i.e. only with Boeing 777 aircraft, indicates the most recent update of the blacklist of airlines banned from operating in European airspace. (macauhub)
