US leasing company ILFC acquires 50 jets from Brazil’s Embraer

The International Lease Finance Corporation (ILFC), the word leader in the business of aircraft leasing, has signed a contract with Empresa Brasileira de Aeronáutica (Embraer) for a firm order of 50 E2 jet aircraft, the Brazilian company announced.

The contract was signed during the recent Paris Air Show and is worth US$2.85 billion. In involves the acquisition of 25 E190-E2 aircraft and a like number of E195-E2s. It also includes options to buy 25 more aircraft of each model, raising to 100 the potential number of aircraft involved.

The first delivery of aircraft, an E190-E2, is scheduled for the first half of 2018.

The E195-E2 is scheduled to enter service in 2019 and another aircraft, the E175-E2, in 2020.

The three new aircraft (E175-E2, E190-E2 and E195-E2) represent a qualitative leap forward for the Brazilian company. They have redesigned flight decks, latest generation engines and wings with advanced aerodynamic features that improve fuel consumption, maintenance costs, emissions and external noise. (macauhub)
