Year-on-year inflation in Macau in June stood at 5.31 percent due to rises in the prices of meals outside the home, home rentals, and fruit and vegetables, the region’s Statistics and Census Bureau said.
According to the Bureau, compared to June 2012, there were notable rises in the price indices of the categories of Housing and Fuel (8.91 percent), Health (7.31 percent) and Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages (6.47 percent).
In June the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 0.67 percent against May, following rises in the categories of Clothing and Footwear (2.96 percent), and Domestic Equipment (1.73 percent).
The inflation rate in June, measured as the average variation over the last 12 months against the preceding 12 months, rose 5.52 percent, the Statistics and Census Bureau said. (macauhub)
