Angola’s new business permit is easier and faster to obtain

26 July 2013

The Angolan government plans this year to simplify the process of granting business permits, which will take a maximum of three days, Angola’s Trade Minister said Thursday in Luanda.

At the end of a Council of Ministers meeting, Rosa Escórcio Pacavira de Matos said that simplifying the process of issuing permits would reduce both the number of days needed to obtain them and the number of documents required.

“All that is required is an inspection certificate, commercial registration certificate, a photocopy of the Identity Cards of the partners and a Revenue Document to request a new permit,” the minister said.

The new commercial permit is valid for five years and its cost will vary according to the size of the establishment, the lowest amount, of 1,000 kwanzas, will be applicable to market traders and street vendors.

The minister noted that permits for wholesale warehouses in urban areas would not be renewed, and that only retail establishments and large retail spaces, such as supermarkets and service providers would have permits renewed. (macauhub)
