The Angolan government is spending US$88 million in the agro-industrial unit of the municipality of Camacupa, Bié province, said the manager of the project, carried out by the China CAMC Engineering Co. (CAMCE).
The same official told Angolan news agency Angop that work to prepare the nit, which began at the end of 2012, is going well and that all facilities would be concluded by 2014.
The agro-industrial unit will have factories to process maize and soy, warehouses for a variety of products, administrative areas and housing for workers, amongst other facilities.
Once the work is finished, the CAMCE official said, he unit will have 5,000 hectares to plant maize and soy beans. (macauhub)
