The municipality of Soyo, the capital of the Angolan province of Zaire, in the next two years will have a new urban development with 400 homes built some 20 kilometres from the city.
The project, which will be built by Omatapalo Engenharia e Construção Civil, will take 22 months to build.
The new urban development will also include construction of a hospital complex, a school, a library, IT room, multipurpose pavilion and a football stadium.
The new urban area is financed by Sonangol, a shareholder of liquid natural gas company Angola LNG.
When the work began Sonangol’s chief executive said that the project was intended to reduce a lack of housing in the area and allow Angolans to own their own home. (macauhub)
