8 August 2013

Vietnam is interested in investing in rice production in Angola and land with access to a lot of water has already been chosen for the project, in Moxico province, a source from Angola’s foreign ministry told the Angop news agency.

The director for Asia and Oceania of the Angolan Foreign Relations Ministry, ambassador André Panzo also said that the issue of how the project will be funded is also under consideration.

The ambassador noted that Vietnam, which is one of the world’s largest coffee producers, could also support the revitalisation of coffee production in Angola.

Panzo noted that Vietnam had also shown interest in cooperating in the construction and oil sectors.

The Angolan ambassador was speaking during a visit to Angola by a delegation from Vietnam, headed up by foreign minister Pham Binh Minh. (macauhub)
