12 August 2013

Angola’s Economy Minister, Abraão Pio dos Santos Gourgel, is due to visit Argentina this week to publicise investment opportunities in Angola, according to Angolan news agency Angop.

Gourgel’s visit to Buenos Aires, from 15 to 19 August, comes just three weeks after Argentina announced a credit line of US$100 million to finance agricultural and industrial projects by Argentinean businesspeople in partnership with Angolan businesspeople.

The Angolan Foreign Minister, Georges Chikoti announced the Argentinean funding on a visit to Buenos Aires in July.

Angolan Minister Abraão Gourgel will meet with his ministerial counterparts for the Econmy, Public Finance, Trade, Agriculture, and Livestock as well as with the chairman of the National Bank.

He will also meet with businesspeople and industrial groups linked to the energy, fishing, agro-livestock, industrial, and mining sectors.

The Minister is also expected to discuss the possibility of Argentina buying natural gas from Angola, the Argentinean press reported. (macauhub)
