Macau population rises to around 600,000 people

At the end of June of this year Macau’s population totalled 591,900 people, which was a rise of 5,600 people against the previous quarter, according to figures published by the region’s Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC).

Of the total population, 51.7 percent, or 306,200 people were female, DSEC said.

At the end of the second quarter of this year there were 121,194 non-resident workers in Macau, which was an increase of 6,478 people against the previous quarter.
In the second quarter of the year 1,524 children were born, thus increasing the number of children born between January and June 2013 to 3,133.

There were also 442 deaths in the quarter, or 49 fewer than in the previous quarter. In the first half of 2013 there were a total of 933 deaths in Macau. (macauhub)
