12 August 2013

Two new textile and clothing factories are due to be built in Cambambe in the northern Angolan province of Kwanza Norte, with Japanese funding, municipal administrator Francisco Manuel Diogo said.

The factories, which are scheduled for completion within two years, will be located on the site where textile company SATEC used to stand.

The administrator also said that when the factories start operating, in 2015, 2,000 jobs would be created.

The Cambambe municipal area, which was once Angola’s third-largest industrial area, covers an area of 20,000 square metres with an estimated population of 93,000. (macauhub)
