Cape Verde’s National Statistics Institute (INE) plans in September to carry out the 4th Business Census to collect up-to–date information about all the country’s companies and commercial establishments, whether they are registered or not, INE said.
The census will be carried out across the country at the same time, via direct interviews by an accredited INE team, which will visit business establishments and other economic units in all of the archipelago’s municipal areas.
From 2 to 30 September company officials must provide general information about their companies, including the sector in which they operate and the staff they employ, turnover, expenses and their Annual Report and Accounts for 2012.
The census is intended to update the statistical units file, collect data for national accounts and find out more about the Cape Verdean business scene, said the chairman of INE, António Durante.
The previous Business Census was carried out in 2011. (macauhub)
