City of Namibe, Angola, to have new hotel unit

A new hotel unit is due to open Saturday in the city of Namibe, on Angola’s southern coast, the national director of the Angolan Tourism Institute (Infotur), Eugénio Clemente said cited by Angolan news agency Angop.

He said that the Infotur hotel was one of five hotels that the Angolan government projected to provide accommodation for the Africa Cup of Nations 2010, in the provinces of Huila, Namibe, Cabinda, Benguela and Luanda.

Located in Praia Amélia, 5 kilometres from the city of Namibe, the hotel has 128 rooms and is part of a strategy to boost hotel accommodation and is expected to balance out prices in the market.

According to Clemente, the hotel is a significant investment, and has a conference room for 200 people, a restaurant also for 200 people as well as a number of service areas. (macauhub)
