The 2013-2017 Strategic Development Plan for Kwando Kubango includes construction of 4,000 kilometres of roads, which will boost progress in the Angolan province, said the governor of the province, Higino Carneiro.

Cited by Angolan news agency Angop the governor said that the 4,000 kilometres of new roads would not be enough given the size of the province, which is the second-largest in Angola after Moxico province.

“Technical studies were carried out in this area and submitted to central government, and they are now being considered for inclusion in the General State Budget for 2014,” said Carneiro, who said that border roads were a priority.

Carneiro noted that the building roads in that region of the country was of great importance as they were the basis for building further facilities. (macauhub)
