Timor-Leste (East Timor) will have broadband Internet access as soon as an undersea fibre optic cable is laid between Dili and Darwin, in Australia, the Timorese Prime Minister, Xanana Gusmão said Wednesday.
“We are working to establish a link between Darwin and Timor-Leste via an undersea fibre optic cable, which will give us broadband Internet access,” said Xanana Gusmão, cited by Portuguese news agency Lusa.
The Timorese prime minister made the announcement at the opening session of a conference that is due to end Thursday in Dili. (macauhub)
