Angolan airline Taag launches second scheduled flight between Luanda and Beijing

30 September 2013

Angolan airline Taag last week launched its second scheduled direct flight between Luanda and Beijing and is planning a third in 2014, said the company’s director in Beijing, António Inácio.

At a meeting held at the weekend to mark the launch of the new flight, Inácio noted that Taag was the only African airline to employ Chinese crew members.

The Angolan airline started flying to Beijing, once a week, in 2008.

China “is a strategic and privileged partner for Angola,” and “Angola is now one of China’s main trading partners in Africa,” said Angola’s ambassador in Beijing, João Garcia Bires.

The Luanda-Beijing flights leave on Mondays and Fridays and return on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The Chinese are the largest foreign community in Angola, totalling over 260,000 people. (macauhub)
