Macau received 1.42 million visitors during the so-called Golden Week, celebrated from 27 September to 7 October, according to figures published by the in the first half of 2013, which was a rise of 4.2 percent against the same period of 2012, the Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) said.
According to the figures, between 1 and 7 October Macau received 896,000 visitors, which is a year-on-year increase of 5.65 percent.
With the exception of 1 October, which is China’s national day, on which visitors to Macau fell by 6.04 percent to 124,400, the remaining days saw an increased number of visitors.
Between 27 September and 1 October, Macau received 648,600 visitors, which was an increase of 19.8 percent, or 107,000 people, compared to last year. (macauhub)
